Chief Upland Gear

The Chief Upland Over/Under Vest project set out to rethink what an upland hunting vest could be. Working closely with the Chief Upland team, we designed the first front loading vest on the market, a system built for efficiency, comfort, and true customization in the field. The vest uses an ultralight yet highly durable 1000D CORDURA construction and a modular MOLLE-based attachment system, allowing hunters to mix and match pouches and accessories to build the exact setup they need for any environment or style of hunt.

The design focuses on performance and accessibility, with an adjustable fit for a wide range of body types and an ergonomic structure that shifts weight to the hips for long days on uneven terrain. Front loading bird storage, additional rear capacity, and intelligently placed pockets make the vest fast, functional, and easy to operate while moving.

This project resulted in an award winning vest that brings modern design thinking to upland gear and gives hunters a system that adapts to them instead of the other way around.
